Siskiyou Seeds
Sorghum bicolor (105 days)
A monocot related to corn with a similar growth habit to about 6 feet tall that is commonly grown throughout much of Africa, but less common in the USA. Sorghum can be grown for grain, bird food, and also a sweet syrup can be pressed from the stalks much like sugar cane. This variety has pretty panicles of coral colored grain as opposed to the multi colored black and red of the Hungarian broomcorn we offer to which it is closely related. Very similar to Milo. Stalks and de-seeded heads can be used for broom making.
