Oenothera biennis
A biennial plant with a plume of bright yellow flowers and a sturdy taproot, evening primrose grows to about 8’ tall and flowers in its second season. You might find this North American native in your backyard or in fields, along roadsides, or in waste areas throughout much of eastern North America where it has naturalized. Easy to grow in almost any soil, (sandy, loamy soil average, well draining). Likes full sun. Zones 3 to 8. Used to mitigate the discom- fort associated with premenstrual syndrome (PMS). It also has garnered attention as an important dietary supple- ment and a good source of essential fatty acids. SSF.
