Seven Seeds Farm
Urtica diocia-(75 days) Perennial.
Also commonly called Stinging Nettles, this herb is a staple for tea, medicine making and as a delicious substitute for spinach in a variety of recipes. If you are not familiar with this plant, BE FOREWARNED!, as it has “spines” that sting you and can cause a burning, stinging sensation in that area. The spines lose their potency once steamed or put in tea – so you can enjoy it as food when cooked. Some folks enjoy nettle pesto. Can spread from root runners so plan and plant accordingly. Multiple medicinal uses. High in Iron. SSF
