Onion, Cippola Borettana (90 days)

Allium cepa 

A solid flat Cippola medallion onion with yellow gold wrappers that grows to about 2-3” in diameter and about 1-1 ½ “ thick.  Traditionally grown in the village of Boretta, Italy since 1400!  Mild flavor lends itself to using raw or cooked. Long Day type, so it will bolt if planted in southern latitudes. Very pretty and lends itself well to being braided for winter storage. Strong tasting.
