Bean, Oregon Giant Pole, Purple Romano
(95 days) Phaseolus vulgaris -
Back by popular demand! This is a regional favorite prized for its productive profusion of violet flattened “Romano type” pods that possess a tender mild flavor even once they attain larger sizes. Beans are 6-8” long and nearly 1” wide! Vines grow to 6-7’ tall and require a trellis for support.
A dual-purpose bean. Can be eaten as a snap bean when they are big, juicy, and tender. Also, great for shelling and/or dry beans. Tolerant of shade as well as cold, wet weather as we have in the PNW.
