Shallots, Bonjour (100 days from transplant)

Allium cepa

While most folks grow shallots from sets, planting them in the Fall, they are increasingly grown from seed, planted in the spring. This is a more cost effective options compared with the investment in sets for planting stock and the yield can be equally impressive. Bon Jour is a pretty rosy pink-skinned, long-storing shallot with a teardrop shape. Grow like you would onions. It is possible to save some of your harvest from replanting in the Fall as you would with sets.

Packet:  .5g. ≈ 100 seeds
