Siskiyou Seeds Farm
Tomato, de Colgar Bombeta, storage
(85 days) Solanum lycopersicum -
This is a Spanish variety from our friends in the Catalonia region of Spain who have a farm based cooperative seed company called Les Refardes. “De Colgar” translates as “hanging” referring to the tradition of hanging the tresses of fruits from string in the kitchen where they can last for up to 6 months! A semi indeterminate plant produces clusters of 8-12 1-1&¼” grape shaped Saladette type fruit with a charming point at the blossom end. Fruit color is a deep orange red. The dense fruits are pleasantly sweet when eaten in season. Comparable to the Italian storage varieties beginning to become popular here in the PNW. HEIRLOOM.
