Kamut is a registered trademark of Kamut International, Ltd. It is an ancestor to modern wheat, originating from the fertile crescent region near what is modern Iran. The grains are about twice the size of modern wheat. It also has a much higher protein content (12-18%). This is a vigorous growing, tall grain that can reach 4 ft tall. Plant in fall or early spring. Grain heads are plump with pretty black awns above buff white glumes. HEIRLOOM.
