Seed Cleaning Screens Basic Set  We are excited to offer these sturdy hand cleaning screens to support your seed saving efforts. Our neighbor and master woodworker Mateo Geier makes these for us from Douglas Fir, lumber and durable stainless steel wire mesh. There are many specialized seed screens, however, we have found that with these simple 3 screens you can do the job of cleaning most vegetable seeds of chaff and dust. Each screen is 12" x 12" by 2" deep. If you are cleaning tiny seeds like flowers and herbs you will need the Advanced Seed Cleaning Screens which have less space between the wires.  Included here are 3 sizes: 2 wires per inch (1/2"), 4 wires per inch (1/4"), ) and 8 wires per inch (1/8").  These assist in cleaning most larger seeds. The wooden frames are glued and nailed and then rounded and sanded for easy handling. They come unfinished for those that may have a sensitivity to finishes or would like to meet organic certification requirements for seed processing. With these screens you can clean everything from large seeds such as peas, corn and beans to medium sized seeds like chard and cilantro to smaller seeds such as lettuce, brassicas.
